HMS Syrtis (P241) was one of the submarines used to tow X-craft (mini-subs) to attack the German battleship Tirpitz at anchor in Norway. She was lost in March 1944 with all hands while on a war patrol in Norwegian waters – believed to be due to a coastal minefield]
