Your doctor will be able to advice you on pre-natal care, home or hospital births and ante-natal care. Classes are held at the QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City and the Queensway House Clinic in Hatfield town centre. Maternity services are provided at the QEII but these may move to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

Supermarkets and chemists shops in the town can provide formula, nappies and other essentials.

Whether it's a registry office or church wedding, Hatfield can cater to most preferences. There's also a range of hotels from traditional to modern to hold the reception or have your honeymoon in. Or you may want to chose the quiet seclusion of a country cottage for the latter.

Hatfield has florists, caterers and a range of halls for hire if you want to make all the arrangements yourself.

Sadly, death is the only guarantee in life. For helping deal with this eventuality the town has a hospice, two funeral service providers and the district cemetery is also located in Hatfield.

There are a number of pubs, hotels and function rooms which are available to hold a wake, and churches for remembrance services.
